OUR MISSION

To advocate for independently owned brick-and-mortar bridal retailers
through public policy, media representation and consumer education.

We believe independent bridal retailers deserve representation when decisions, conversations and narratives affect our businesses and our future.

WHY WE EXIST

Independent bridal retailers occupy a unique place within the wedding industry.

We are small businesses.

  • Employers

  • Community Members

  • Fashion retailers

  • Trusted Advisors

And the people brides rely upon to guide them through one of the most emotional purchases of their lives.

Yet the perspective of independent bridal retailers can easily be overlooked when policies are created, media stories are written or consumers receive inaccurate information about bridal shopping.

NBRA exists to make sure our industry's voice is heard.

OUR VISION

A thriving independent bridal-retail industry that is
respected, represented and understood.

We envision an industry in which independent bridal retailers have a meaningful voice with policymakers, credible representation in the media and consumers who understand the value of shopping local bridal.

OUR THREE PILLARS

  • ADVOCATE

Represent independent bridal retailers in public-policy conversations affecting our businesses.

  • REPRESENT

Ensure the independent bridal-retail perspective is included in media and industry conversations.

  • EDUCATE

Help consumers understand the value, expertise and experience offered by reputable brick-and-mortar bridal retailers.

OUR HISTORY

NBRA was founded in 2018 around a simple idea:

Independent bridal retailers are stronger when we stand together.

What began as an effort to consolidate the voices of bridal store owners has evolved into a national trade association focused on advocacy and representation.

As our industry continues to change, NBRA's role becomes increasingly important.

Our responsibility is to make sure independent bridal retailers have a seat at the table.
